Karowe Underground Pump Station

Mining / underground dewatering infrastructure

THE PROJECT

Engineered to work below ground.

WOM collaborated with TDS Projects Group on the 285 Level underground pumping station at Karowe Mine, Botswana. This was a TDS client project; our team supported the TDS engineering delivery through 3D plant modelling, coordinated pump-station layouts, piping interfaces and technical drawing documentation.

ENGINEERING COLLABORATION / UNDERGROUND DEWATERING

Engineered underground. Designed for the conditions.

An underground pumping system developed for challenging hot, abrasive and corrosive groundwater conditions at Karowe Mine in Botswana.

WOM collaborated with TDS Projects Group on this project for a TDS client. Our team contributed detailed 3D plant modelling, mechanical and piping layouts, access coordination and drawing-office documentation as part of TDS's wider engineering delivery.

The documented system connects the 310 Level intermediate sump and vertical collection sumps to the 285 Level main pump station, using two banks of six Scamont SP200 positive-displacement pumps. The wider project also involved procurement documentation, material take-offs and construction work packages.
